Interesting duscussion starting on www.forumeerstewereldoorlog.nl.
The 100th anniversary for WW1 is comming up (2014) and the tourist authorities around Ieper have come up with the terms Dark tourism and battlefield tourism.
I do not like the term Dark tourism at all to be honest, it makes it all sound very cheap, but of course whether we like it or not, tourism is important to help to keep focus on things like this.
Lest we forget, I guess, gets another meaning this way.

Day one of my trip around Ieper is finally online, now working on day two.
Technically I did not build the site the way I wanted to, but sifting through all the pictures, resizing them and writing the text took a lot more time then I had expected..
On a side note, i also now have a guestbook online, feel free to sign it

Back from my trip around Ieper en my visit to my friends in France.
Saturday i did a travel report for the worldwar 1 forum (http://www.forumeerstewereldoorlog.nl/), now it is time to sift through nearly 200 fotos to start updating my private site.
It is safe to say my trip around Ieper was memorable...to say the least...

On a side note, last night a lil challenge was laid down..
Make the whole site (inc pics and everything) dynamic..interesting idea though I am not yet quite sure what that would all cover.
I guess, reading all text from the DB, reading what pics to use where form the DB, reading styles from the DB, and of course upload pics, CMS on the backend...thats gonna be quite a job :S..time to get my hollidays planned :P

yay fixed the sort order, was reading a book, suddenly it came to my mind there should be a way to determine if a sort is ascending or descending (makes sense it would be possible) :)..turned out there was ;)

The diary i can now update through a webform yay (not so yay is the fact i had to search for the rogue capital again (grrrrr)
Last thing to figure out is how to sort the output the other way around since i want the latest update on top of course

Hoop changes, ideen aan het maken voor een admin gedeelte en todo list uitgebreid aan de priv zijde. De error in de logs met de default time is er ook uit nu. Test met file upload werken nog niet, kan het file niet moven volgens de log, maar het script an sich lijkt te werken...wel enigszins totaal gejat ;)..
Prio 1 is nu de diary via SQL, da´s dan gelijk een voorzetje voor een gastenboek :P... oow jaaa ..spot the difference mbt de vormgeving van de melding wanneer de pagina voor het laatst was bijgewerkt ;)GGRRR zie net een probleem de diary pagina kan niet scrollen doohhhh...en gefixed :D

met behulp van Jeroen een hele hoop ontdekt, niet het minste dat je gewoon HTML tags kun gebruiken in php tekst, eerste serieuze stukje geschreven voor de site, nl de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie.. nu echt slapen, wilde dat al waaaayy eerder doen, maar besloot ff nog dit en nog dat ...arrgghhh verslavend :)
PS: P is nu altijd 'justify' ziet er beter uit

gisterennacht heel veel puzzelen met stylesheets, geen success, lambik heeft een plek op inet voor me gemaakt (yay ik heb www therefore i excist ;) ook een nieuwe editor ontvangen waarmee ik nu online dit file update

Dear Diary ...dooohh
Gewoon klinklare onzin met notes en zooi terwijl ik aan het puzzelen. Vanavond een hoop tijd besteed aan het opfrissen van dat beetje HTML dat ik kende (pff uur of twee om die frames uit te vogelen)
Tevens ook de eerste voorzichtige stapjes gezet in PHP, jay ik kan een tekst weergeven :)
paar handige resources gevonden over basic HTML codes , ik zou daarvoor natuurlijk ook gewoon een WYSIWYG editor kunnen downloaden :P
inderdaad een handige tool dat tekstpad, zeker met die hoofdletter gevoeligheid ;)..00.30 ...moet gaan slapen!!!..morgen maar eens pix op gaan zoeken van de waterline voor mijn projectje
Dat werkt ook, en note de datum aan de bovenzijde van dit file :D...puur door iemand anders verzonnen ;), maar ik geloof dat ik een klein beetje begrijp hoe het werkt. Nu nog begrijpen wat al die kleurtjes in PSPAd betekenen
Update 11.45, zucht gevonden, beware of the rogue space, dit gaat me nog vaak overkomen :), stylesheet wordt gelezen :)
